All active participants are offered the opportunity to visit one opera of the Richard-Wagner-Festival.

"Roads to Parzifal -

or the search for the Holy Grail in the music between Orient and Occident"

The participants of the workshop Orient meets Occident study the opera Parzifal. Under this aspect they concentrate on the repertoire of the middle-ages, renaissance and baroque as well as the classical-arab music of the 12th century in Al-Andalus. They will also work on new arrangements and compositions in jazz and pop music.

The workshop is addressing to participants, who are interested in foreign (music)cultures on the one hand and on the other have some experiences in one of the following music-fields:

- experience in performing the historical european music (middle-ages, renaissance, baroque):
  singers and intrumentalists

- classical arab music: singers and instrumentalists

- pop and jazz-music: young musicians who are interested in new arrangements, compositions and production   (including electronical)
